The Extension Company was engaged in 2007/2008 for a major project on our house in West Mersea Essex. The scope of work was to extend a timber-framed detached bungalow to create a four bedroom, four reception two story family house. Major structural engineering was required given the bungalow had very shallow foundations and the work included new interior walls and ceilings, new windows and exterior cladding, new floors, new bathrooms, new heating system, new kitchen and oak flooring throughout.
From the outset Mervyn Milburn and David Puxley demonstrated a total understanding for the project and for the varied work involved. Their quotation was competitive and the project was started and completed on time and to budget.
Mervyn and David are skilled builders and were able to devise creative and practical solutions to several problem areas. They and their carefully selected contractors produced work of the highest standards and we were always very pleased with the rate of progress of the build. We had total confidence throughout.
Thanks to their abilities, the project ran extremely smoothly and the end result is a stunning family home that we are proud of. We would be pleased to recommend the Extension Company to anyone embarking on such a project and would use them again ourselves without hesitation.

We used The Extension Company for an extension and as it all went so well, went straight on to complete a loft conversion as well. We found David and Merv to be very experienced with a good skills mix, so that any problems were either anticipated or easily solved.
We were also happy in respect of prices quoted - in that it was stuck to! Any changes in price were agreed in advance with no nasty surprises.
At the end of the projects, we are left with a beautiful house of which we are very proud. Their workmanship cannot be faulted.
